An afternoon tea for six is up for grabs
Following the success of The Great New Zealand Cookbook, Murray Thom has turned his attention to Kiwi baking. Just launched, The Great New Zealand Baking Book features 150 recipes.
Sixty contributors, a who’s who of chefs, bakers and caf? owners, all supply classic Kiwi favourites, delivered with their own special twist. So you can expect everything from Dame Alison Holst’s pavlova to these afghan yo-yos (pictured) from Shaun Clouston at Logan Brown and a raw raspberry brownie from Little Bird’s Megan May (there’s a not-so-naughty chapter to reflect the times).

To celebrate the launch of The Great New Zealand Baking Book and because it will be Mother’s Day before we know it, we are offering one lucky person the chance to win their own Great New Zealand Afternoon Tea (with bubbles) to be shared with mum and four friends. Pkease note that due to logistics, this is an Auckland-only competition.
Two sweet and two savoury baked treats from the book (including the afghan yo-yos) will be made by chef Michelle Pattison, head baker for the book, who tested and made all the recipes for publication. Baking book creator, Murray Thom, will personally deliver the goodies on the day. Plus all six of you will receive a copy of the book, valued at $49.95 each.
