An apartment at Braxmere near Tokaanu on the southern shores of Lake Taupo would be any fisherman’s dream but even without a rod there’s plenty to enjoy in this peaceful spot. Ski on the lake or the nearby mountains or simply admire the view from the apartment’s private patio. Ten individual apartments are dotted around the lake, each with a king-sized bedroom, lounge/dining area and a well-equipped kitchen, although with a $100 voucher for the on-site Lakeland House restaurant (the best in the area, it’s said) this may not get much use.
