The alliance brings increased capacity between New Zealand and Singapore, with Air New Zealand to operate a newly refitted Boeing 777-200ER aircraft on the Auckland - Singapore route. Singapore Airlines will operate Airbus A380s on the Auckland - Singapore route during the Northern Winter operating season, reverting to Boeing 777-300ER aircraft during the Northern Summer period and retrofitted Boeing 777-200ER aircraft on the Christchurch - Singapore route year round.
The introduction of Air New Zealand codeshare to the Singapore Airlines and SilkAir networks means access to more than 50 destinations around the world, including South East Asia, the United Kingdom, Europe and South Africa.
