The brand new, fast-paced musical for all of the family features a fusion of 1960s music and a distinctly 21st Century spin.
Set at the very dawn of the teenager, ElectricDreams 2 is chock full of comedy, drama and brilliant 1960s music.
Travel back in time to the turbulent 1960s when music was loud, skirts were short and Mods and Rockers were sworn enemies.
Plain jane Alice is desperately trying to get her brother’s arch nemesis – Jonny of the Rockers – to notice her, but what will happen when she gets caught in the crossfire? Things go from bad to worse when Jonny’s evil twin sister, Lavinia, comes home after being framed for a crime she insists she didn’t commit. Now she’s vowing revenge on those who locked her away and she won’t rest until everyone has paid the price. In this epic tale of truth and justice, can love and great music really conquer all?The 1960s songs, including such classics as ‘My Generation’ by The Who and ‘Satisfaction’ by The Rolling Stones, have been given a truly inspired modern twist by musical director Leon Gray-Lockhart.
Directed by Dyllan Martin, who at 20 is Tauranga’s youngest theatre director, the show is a nationwide premiere and promises to be a fantastic fun night out for all of the family.
Electric Dreams 2 runs from January 14-19 at 16th Avenue Theatre. To buy tickets, visit: www.eventfinder.co.nz
