Win a Kubb Brothers Engraved Set
Think outside the box and elevate your lawn game this summer.
For most of us, the game of Kubb is still a relatively novel concept.
Better thought of as a hybrid of lawn bowls and pentanque, Kubb is fast-becoming many Kiwis' favourite summer pastime.
Kubb originated in Scandinavia in 2012 and is best played on a 5m by 8m pitch, where the aim of the game is to knock over wooden blocks by throwing wooden batons. This quirky sport can be enjoyed by the entire family and is typically played by any number of people, from 2 to 6.
It was by chance that George Coltart stumbled across the sport during a stint in Europe. Pleasantly surprised and impressed with what he'd seen, George headed home to the Hawkes Bay and shared the concept with his brothers, Sam and Freddie. With help from dad, of course, the boys got to work in their family workshop and it was here that the very first Kubb Brothers set was born.
With Waitangi Weekend merely a handful of days away, consider rallying up the troops and holding your very own Kubb tournament. This week, we have an engraved wooden Kubb Brothers set, valued at $260, to give away to one lucky Dish reader.
