Born and bred a Kiwi, Katrina Hobbs’ career began in acting at the tender age of 14 merging into presenting down the track. While working on screen, her desire to work in the field of design grew. A gap in production gave her the opportunity to study Interior Design. Interior Design being a reasonably broad canvas, Katrina narrowed it down to textiles – in her words ‘the pretty stuff’.
Launching Hobbs & Co’s first collection Storm in a Teacup in Australia in 2015, Katrina was then drawn back home to New Zealand. A Summer trip to the South Island of New Zealand, seeing the colours, the light and the night sky triggered the idea of a place of timeless suspended reality. This developed into Down The Rabbit Hole, a magical place of infinite possibility where the only limit is your imagination.
