I love cookbooks and tend to pore over most that come my way but one that has really delighted me of late is the newly released Kids’ Meals & Snacks.
I love it because the recipes have been chosen by children for children. It seems children helped do the testing and to decide which recipes should be included. Targeting all ages, they include breakfast, lunch and dinner options, some of which can be quickly prepared while others can be made then put aside.
But importantly this is not just a book of kids’ meals. As a busy working woman I spotted several I would like to prepare for myself such as cheese triangles, chicken and vegetable rolls, cheesy ham pasta bake, lamb koftas, muddy puddles (oozing chocolate) and strawberry and ricotta muffins to name a few.

The book contains lots of healthy options – salads, sandwiches, smoothies and wraps – with each recipe illustrated. To my mind this would make a great gift to enthusiastic young cooks and one from which more than a few mums would, I am sure, sneakily graft a few ideas.
