In lieu of much travel – a round up of what’s happening behind the scenes at Sarah Sees The World.
I’m recently back from a business trip to Auckland to film an ad. I stayed at the Pullman where the check in was easy, the bathroom products were by C.O. Bigelow, and the outlook was nostalgic, with a similar view to that of the apartment I once lived in a block over. I appreciated the quiet hallways, able to sleep until almost 9 having got in at 3.30am (often I find I am disturbed by other business travellers leaving early, close quarters and noisy plumbing) and while breakfast didn’t quite live up to that of my Auckland hotel fav at The Rydges it was decent, with a Nespresso machine, fruit, juices, cereal and hot buffet items.
I’ve heard there is a $10,000 per night penthouse suite frequented by celebrities – that is not the room I stayed in!

Any tips on Hawaii? Mike and I are heading there in a few weeks and other than walking up Diamond Head, watching the fireworks on Friday night and hitting the beach, we have few plans.

Anticipating, not just the above but catching up with Renee in Sydney at the beginning of May. It’s been over 18 months since I saw her last and we went on The Yacht Week. Also hoping to catch up with some other Sydney-based friends at the same time.
But sad about the end of daylight savings time. This summer I ran the Round the Bays events in both Wellington and Auckland and Round the Vines in Martinborough which featured wine shots and fruit pieces on water stations. But I’m definitely a good weather runner – I prefer to hibernate with wine and chocolate when it’s cold and dark outside at 5.30pm.
