Unsatisfied with the months of no police progress in her daughter’s murder case, Mildred Hayes (Academy Award® winner Frances McDormand) makes a bold move to take matters into her own hands. Grieving and angry, she erects three billboards on a barely used stretch of highway outside her small town of Ebbing, Missouri with a daring challenge to the local police department – directly targeting the town’s beloved Sherriff William Willoughby (Academy Award® nominee Woody Harrelson).
When the Sherriff’s second-in-command Officer Dixon (Sam Rockwell) – an immature momma’s boy with a penchant for violence – gets involved, the battle between Mildred and Ebbing’s law enforcement is only exacerbated, leading to a series of events that will change the small rural town forever.
From Academy Award® winner Martin McDonagh (In Bruges). Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri opens in cinemas January 1.
